Access to education is a basic need to the Kenyan child. However, this is usually hard to achieve due to challenges encountered in education financing. This is especially the case when it comes to accessing secondary education. Harrison Mwakuchu, a bright child of a humble background was facing challenges after being admitted to Kenyatta high school being a national school. The boy was in and out of school due to fees arrears as his parents could not manage to pay the full amount, given that they were low income earners.
Harrison Mwakuchu’s case was brought to the attention of TATUA youth organization in 2019 when he was joining form 1. Members of TATUA fundraised and enrolled the boy to Kenyatta high school. Later in 2020 TATUA through the partnership with AEP the boy received further support for school Levies where by AEP cleared all the outstanding arrears.
Through the support of AEP, Harrison Mwakuchu received a new lease of life and has been able to achieve secondary education. He is currently in form four and doing well in his studies. He has been a source of encouragement to his family and other needy students in his community who are looking up to him.

“I thank God for TATUA organization for linking me to AEP who have helped me attain secondary education” Said Harrison during a holiday follow up. To quote Harrison’s mother; “May God bless the strangers who came to my son’s aid when all hope was lost.”
